Mary's ashes will subsequently be taken to Iowa by her father, and
there will be a later memorial and burial in the Quad Cities.  Plans
for this haven't been solidified at all yet but I will post as they

Another note --

I would like to write a eulogy for Mary based on memories of her from
people who loved her. Many are reading this. If you'd like to share a
memory or thought about Mary please send it to edheil@fastmail.fm. I
don't know if we'll be able to use everything contributed, and I don't
know if we'll be attributing things to individual contributors or not
(if you definitely want to be or want not to be attributed let me
know). I just know there are lots of stories & memories out there far
beyond what I know and I wanted to cast a net and bring a few in. And
all of them whether we use them in the eulogy or not I will treasure
and keep.

Yes, ISCA BBS is currently displaying a time 1 hour behind.  The BBS switched
to standard time on Sunday, the pre-2007 date to "fall back."

So, this is your reminder to "fall back" this Saturday.

In the meantime, we are experiencing the latest sunrises of the year, at least
according to the clock.  I consider somewhere around January 3 to be the real
latest sunrises.  Until the 2007 extension of DST by a week, the latest sunrise
by the clock still occured in January.

By "fall back" on Saturday, I mean 2 a.m. your local time Sunday.  Be sure if
you are working Saturday night/Sunday morning that you get paid for that extra
hour.

Final Space Shuttle Landing>

        is scheduled for 5:57 a.m. ET Thursday at Kennedy Space Center in
Florida.

The shuttle leaves behind 6 astronauts on the space station and a U.S. flag
that launched on the first space shuttle mission in 1981.  When the shuttle's
commercial replacement makes it to the space station, the flag will be returned
to Earth.  It is then hoped that flag will be on the first U.S. flight back to
the moon or first flight to Mars.

The shuttle is bringing home all the trash and broken parts they had space for.

Then thousands of NASA staff will be unemployed.

If the weather is favorable, the final launch of the U.S. space shuttle program
will occur tomorrow at 11:26 a.m. ET.

This will probably be broadcast live on several cable-satellite and possibly
broadcast channels (probably outside the U.S. as well), but you can also watch
it live on-line at http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html (redirect
from nasa.gov/ntv).  Watch it on TV if you can, so as not to take away
bandwidth from those who can't watch it on TV.

At 10 a.m. ET today, you can watch live on-line the "STS-135 Countdown Status

Space Shuttle program comes to a close. This is an unfortunate milestone but
one that should be celebrated for its 135 missions and the heroes both in space
and on the ground that made the United States of America the leader in space
exploration.

Space program is still important and relevant to all Americans. We would like

the SLF (shuttle landing facility) at Kennedy Space Center in FL.

At the same time, Shuttle Atlantis is being rolled out to Launch Complex 39 in
preparation for a targeted liftoff of STS-135 no sooner than July 8th. This
will be the last launch for the Shuttle program.

Some of you know, I have a five-year-old daughter with special needs.  She's
autistic, and attends a school in Minneapolis called Fraser Academy - dedicated
to support kids with developmental delays and disabilities, to develop the
skills they need to live quality lives.

Well the school's having quite a raffle to raise money for their educational
